Visited a friends house the other day and had a real whiskey tasting! He had saved a bottle of Douglas Laings Premier Barrel which he got as a gift from us from some time ago.
It’s a singe malt scotch whisky in a very nice ceramic bottle as you can see. My husband found this premier barrel at an airport and couldn’t resist buying it!
There are only a few hundred bottles of this particular kind and they come from the same oak “barrel”.
We had a wonderful evening with friends, great food and wine. The older I get these kind of things are just getting better and better, good food and drinks I mean 
This whisky is no exception, I really liked it!
Douglas Laings Premier Barrel has a slightly metallic taste to it. So it’s totally different from the “Laphroaig” whisky (my husbands favorite btw) which tastes much more wood and oak. I also think that Douglas Laings Premier Barrel tastes much softer than many other whiskys I’ve tried so far. This was a very nice whisky to have with friends because of it’s softness. I rate it 4/5 stars.
