For a long time I have wanted to get a pedometer (step counter) to be able to track my every-day exercise. It’s easy go get a stiff neck or back when you are beading all the time so I try to take walks as much as I can. Imagine my surprise when my husband gave me one as a gift yesterday! Now I can always check how I’m doing, which is great!
As I leave my house I’m wearing it, turns out that it is also a very cool jewelry gadget! It’s called Tech 4 O Accelerator Women’s Running Watch. It’s so cute, pink and all… In the matter of fact this lovely accessory is lot of things:
- stylish jewelry and wristwatch
- pedometer (it even accounts for running style, stride, terrain, and pack weight)
- health-monitor
- speed, distance and caloric counter
- stopwatch and countdown timer
I’m going to use this watch everywhere! In the kitchen taking the time on my cooking and baking. It’s going to count down minutes on the PMC metal clay when I’m burning pieces, same thing when I have polymer clay pieces in the owen for that matter. This is a must have for everyone, yes you crafter or jewelry maker!
But today I’m gonna to try the step counter! I wonder how much it will be? I told you before that I was going to explore the local bead shops, so I thought I would do that with the pedometer. Last night I did it! Together with my husband we started walking towards our goal “Perlehuset”, (=House of pearls in english) it’s situated in the cool neighborhood called Majorstua. It has many boutiques from Chanel to H&M but still it’s kind of relaxed. I like that.
As we are walking down the streets I was thinking about how many steps I will have to take every time I go there… Like 10.000 or something?! Because I have a feeling I’ll be going there a lot…
Perlehuset is both a bead and a button shop.
Now we are getting closer, it’s supposed to be just around the corner… Ah there it is! When I look inside, on the walls all I see is beads. And in the window there’s some finished bead necklaces as well as two huge buckets of tasty buttons! The store is closed because of the late hour, but I will go back another day to have a closer look inside! Hope I will find lots of beads, sterling silver findings and gemstones!
Now, I better take a look at my pedometer… Can you guess, how much it is? It’s 3594 steps from my home! That’s not too much…
A good distance, I’m able to get some exercise at the same time as I do my favorite activity… Discovering new beads for my beading projects! The good part is that this is just the beginning of all the bead shops I can visit here. My pedometer is going to take me to them all!
