Here is the beaded shell necklace I made today. I’m so pleased to work with a mighty shell flower pendant such as this one! In this Shell Necklace I’ve added irregular agate nuggets and shell chips. I was inspired by the fact that all these beads came from the nature. It’s something special about that.

Imagine you’re on a desert island, sleeping under the palm-trees. You’re searching on the beach for whatever you could make a piece of jewelry of. And there! You discover small pretty stones and shells… You poke holes in them so that you can string them. Wouldn’t you really appreciate that necklace? I would. In life everything doesn’t have to be so complicated, some things are supposed to be simple, for you to enjoy it.

When you’re making a lot of jewelry it’s sometimes easy to make designs too complicated. To make things complicated, just because you can, is never ideal. Simple designs can be so powerful, in the right combination. It’s not always necessary to use a complicated technique.

If you feel that your project starts to get out of hand, try to simplify it. Experiment by removing beads or material from the project. Many times i’ve come to realize that just by removing some beads from the design, I got it just right!

 

This simple Shell Necklace was a joy to make and I love the heavy feel about it. Can’t wait to wear it myself or see someone else wearing it. :)
