In Oktober 1984 a baby girl was born, screaming loudly in the cold, dark night in the northern part of Sweden. She spent the first years of here life there, stuck in the north. Isolated from the world.
One day when the girl had grown up; the longing for companionship, a warmer climate and a fish-bowl of her own grew to big, so she decided to pack her bags and move to Karlstad, the promised land all Norrlänningar dream about.
Once settled in in Karlstad, she realised that she would have to make a living somehow, and so she decided to pursue a career as a Graphical Designer.
The girl grew quite successful, but something just didn’t feel right. She knew that there was something missing. Days became nights, and nights became days many times, before the girl stumbled upon a small beading-kit at a friends house. She took it up, looked at it, and then started to bead her very first necklace.
Her life would never be the same, ever again.

I started beading 4 years ago. Now I’m back in college, so I don’t get much time, but I have a small room with beads of all types from wall-to-wall. I’m looking forward to a few days off so I can go in and play awahile!

Lovely picture of Storgatan. I visited Sweden when I was 9 for my parents friends wedding. The landscape struck me as beautiful and I also remember visiting a glass blowing factory. The strange thing is I ended up doing a glass course myself………..isn’t life strange, I’d forgotten about that. I don’t bead but have become interested in it lately as I make glass jewellery.
