Last weekend I painted fabulous doll jewelry stands to have all my beaded jewelry on! It was lots of fun, and very relaxing too, just sitting there and paint all day long. I sort of painted my weekend away…
In a good way.

2. 3.

Painting steps:
1. The jewelry doll stand, all in her natural wooden color.
2. Here I’ve started of, painted with white color at first, to make my real colors more even and richer.
3. Now she is all covered in white.
Final step: (to the right) Here she has got her new true colors! She is a cartoon lady with style
These dolls are great for hanging your jewelry, maybe your favorite ones? I’m gonna have the red doll in my bed room. It’s easy to reach for the necklaces same time as getting dressed, and also you will not forget to wear those precious pieces!
When painting it’s a good idea to have as many layers as needed to cover up all of the wooden base. The dolls look much more alive too, when no faults are shining through.
As I painted the skin color I had 3 layers on top of the white base coat, but with the reds I needed only two. So look closely when brushing on the colors and you will se how many layers will be needed.
In the grass base I mixed green with white, then I toned the colors together a bit to make it more vibrant.
Materials for this project:
The doll stands are so perfect for home decorating, the best feature i that you can adjust them to every room you like since it’s possible to paint them. If you have lots of beads on strands, you can also use these to decorate the dolls in the same way as the necklaces or bracelets. On my dolls I like to have glass beads or natural beads!
Happy painting and decorating on your new jewelry dolls!

Hi Donna! I found my plain doll stands at a craft store called “Panduro”. They have stores in the nordic region for ex. Norway/Sweden/Denmark. But I read they ship outside of europe when buying bigger quantities. Here is a link to the dolls I bought: http://www.pandurohobby.se/pan/IboxServlet?QRY=smyckestorso&p=IXS750&m=1
Hope you will find dolls eventually!
