Many jewelry designs you can see out on the street are very inspiring, and some are just crazy! Maybe I told you before, but one day I saw a teenage girl wearing a huge pair of earrings, they covered half her face. I’ve made a hama beads pattern for them.
You could say they were hama bead jewelry were made from hama beads in green and white… and they had the shape of a the big mushroom from the Nintendo game “Super Mario Bros”! Isn’t this the coolest idea?!
At that time I had trouble not staring too much at her, I was so stunned because they were so big. The design idea was very creative and I would definitely make one of those for myself, however I would use smaller beads! For example the mini hama beads.
Hehe well anyway, here is a pattern for hama beads if you want to make mushroom earrings or jewelry, it’s real simple! And don’t worry you can make the mushroom in any size you want. This could also be a fun project to do together with your kids, boy or girl doesn’t really matter
Hama Beads Jewelry Pattern
The “mini” hama beads has the best size. The “regular sized” ones might be great too, but the design will turn out much bigger.
When you’re making the mushroom you will need one of those hama bead pegboards to be able put the beads in the right pattern.
- After completing your mushroom pattern you take hama bead ironing paper and put in on top of the beads.
- Now iron the paper until the beads melt together. They should melt about 1/4 of the bead to become attached to each other. If you iron the beads for too long or too hot it won’t be pretty, the design will melt too much. Also don’t iron both sides of the design, that won’t look good either.
- With these mushrooms you can make earrings or pendants for necklaces. Or why not refrigerator magnets! They are very cute

I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog; thanks for commenting on mine. I am enchanted by Scandanavia, Norway in particular for some reason, and it’s wonderful to read about it from someone who is living there and who is also creative. Well, I’m going to finish reading all your blog entries.
