One of my favorite TV-shows are The Rachel Ray show. I love the her wonderful cooking as much as all of the other useful tips. It’s always fun to see Rachel wearing so much funky jewelry at the show! She is very fond of big jewelry, so one of the highlights to see how she has combined them in every show.
Undoubtedly Rachel must have a great stylist who is an expert on combining her clothes and jewelry. Another inspiration is Rachel’s sweet assistant Gretta also shares many great tips on makeup, style and jewelry.
I found these really helpful and interesting Jewelry tips from Rachel Ray. Here are some of Rachel’s rules Of Jewelry and my perspective on them.
- Set your own trends and do what you want to do — what’s considered ‘in’ may not be ‘in’ for you.
That’s right, make your own style! Trends are like seasoning to your personal style, not to be copied right off. Find out what works for you. - Mix and match your pieces to create whole new looks.
Match your clothes and jewelry in ways you usually don’t. Be playful, mix chains and beaded jewelry together. - You don’t need an outrageous outfit to wear a big necklace.
Big necklaces require a balanced outfit, something that’s not too crazy will be the best choice. - Big, chunky pieces are great on their own.
Very simple clothing is gorgeous with big jewelry. Use good quality sleeve-less tops and combine with chunky colorful beaded necklaces or chains.
There is a lot to learn from that, what celebrities are wearing and how. Because with this kind of expert help, they will always look their best. There are many funky and useful ideas on how to create balanced outfits which we can spot on famous people in the spotlight.

Nice article Zarah. I love big clunky jewelry. Rachel Ray looks fab in it partly because it suits her big personality. It doesn’t overpower her. I like the way she combines it with other pieces as well. Looks great!

I couldn’t agree more with these basic concepts for wearing big chunky jewelry! My wardrobe is full of the basics with solid tops and neutral colors…so when I started making my own handmade paper jewelry, I went for creating bold chunky colorful designs. I love a piece that makes a statement andn really gets noticed.

I’m so happy we agree!
I checked out your paper beads and jewelry. They are awesome, I’m so inspired! I’ve made some paper pendants before, and now I got the perfect idea for them. So thanks so much for your comment!

Great jewelry, but what’s with that weird expression on Rachel’s face?
