Beaded some jewelry pieces yesterday and had lots of fun! Wanted to make something out of my leftover Fimo beads, and so I did!
It’s not always necessary to buy new beads, why not recycle? It’s great fun to use scrap beads from here and there
You tidy your bead stash from materials left over from other projects, and make room for new beads and findings to make fresh jewelry!
At the end of the evening, I had a pair of earrings and a necklace. I enjoyed using the blue Fimo beads and accessorizing them with silver findings. As you can see I didn’t need to use much extra materials, but kept the designs pretty simple. Many polymer clay beads can make a statement for them selves.
For a nice effect I used Fimo beads that weren’t identical, sometimes that can make a jewelry creation more radiant. But all the beads are made with Fimo Soft polymer clay and came from the same cane.
- Rolled 3 dark blue beads to make like a core bead.
- Then I made a cane by mixing and layering colors, the pasta machine did the mixing using lighter and darker blue colors. Rolled the layers into a cane.
- Sliced the cane and covered the beads with them, covering almost the whole bead.
- Rolled the beads again so that the cane slices will attach to the core bead.
- Then final step, curing the Fimo beads.
As a final step I have added glaze to the beads for extra shine.
Necklace materials:
- 1 Blue Fimo beads
- 0,5 m Rolo silver chain
- Metal frame
- 3 Jump rings
- 2 Bead caps

Really like the kdney wire earrings Zarah! The cane you made is so simple, yet it makes for very striking looking beads.
Have a great Holiday and may the New Year bring you many successes!
