Versace for HM Premiere

I went to the premiere of Versace for HM a few weeks ago, it was so fun! I felt like a wild fashion girl. This is one of my best shopping experiences in a looong time! Wow, I can understand why these collaborations between companies like Versace and Lanvin really works for H&M. It makes it such a fun event and you want to return to H&M for more clothes. Anyway, this is how I did…

Waiting to get my hands on some real Versace pieces, here I am standing in line, waiting 10 minutes, waiting 30 minutes….. *Exciting*!! Seeing all the clothes from a far, made me hungry for all the tasty pieces. Quickly I’m making a plan for what Im gonna grab first… Hmm, there is a must-have-bag, a must-have-jacket…

The doors are opening to the premiere of Versace for HM!

Finally, the security guard is beginning to let everyone in. Now, my turn, run!! Im so gonna get that black and pink bag! Got it, no problem, then reaching for the black jacket with a colorful asian pattern. Got that one also… phew. Along the stride for my pink belt I found some other things, a black dress and another bag but I had to leave those darlings behind and kept the best ones.

A nightmare in situations like this is when people are rude and start fighting over the fashion. But I have to say, here it wasn’t like that at all. I thought everyone was going to be much more aggressive and crazy but nobody was fighting! :O Oh well it was little bit crowded, and it had to be, otherwise it would have been a disaster premiere, right?

Sooo I ended up with the black/pink bag, the pink shiny belt and the sweet jacket. Im so pleased with all of these, but my favorite must be the bag. Its so cute and small, a winner party bag for sure. Love it!

Crystal beads jewelry making: Spring Necklace

Just like winter knocked on our doors: Suddenly, with all it’s grace, one day in december. I remember that, clearly… Then right now: Spring came along, in only one day with all it’s sunshine and greens with full force. (I can’t help it, I have to start beading my crystal bead jewelry piece)

This is what happened here, right now Yesterday there was a freezing cold wind and rainy weather (no inspiration) but now spring is here! It’s fantastic, I love it! I enjoyed the making my first crystal bead necklace so much…

Speaking of this necklace, of course I want to share with you some photos of it. You had a sneak peak of it in yesterdays post.

My Making of the Crystal Beads Jewelry

The pearl crystal necklace is made with yellow and white pearl beads along with crystal beads and crystal spacers. The colors vary from yellow to light pink and white. New design on the blog

Hi there dear readers,

I hope you are well! Fun things are happening on the blog now! I’m working on a new design for it (still in progress) and also adding a new feature where you can comment on my posts with your facebook account. Isn’t it cool?!

It would make me so happy if you wanted try it out with me. How do we do that?

You just make a comment on this post (or an old one) to try this new feature, and I will reply at my end.

By the way, this time of year is fantastic here in Stockholm we are having a wonderful spring. Everything and everyone is coming to life. The greens are growing and people are coming to the parks to feel those warm beams of sun.

Did you get some new inspiration for your jewelry? I certainly did, I have just finished my first spring necklace… Here is a sneak peak Look out for it on the blog, I will posting very soon!

Chronicles of Narnia 3 Cinema Night!

I’ve just seen the new Narnia movie, it was so great! Every time I come out of the cinema after watching a Narnia movie I feel so happy, the stories are so sweet… Just like: And then they lived “happily ever after”… until they’re thrown into the next Narnian adventure…

Because this was the third movie in the series Chronicles Of Narnia I didn’t have big expectations, I think just that has improved my movie experience…

For those who didn’t watch it yet, here is a quick version of the story:

“Lucy and Edmund Pevensie return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world…”

How does that sound?! Exciting huh?

During my “Narnian” cinema night I went to dinner with my husband at this amazing chinese restaurant. We had the asian buffet with a glass of wine Their dumplings were fantastic! I ate all of them…

Silver Wing Necklace (angel wings jewelry)

For so long now I’ve wanted to make something out of my silver wing pendant And finally it’s here…

The simple design of a ball chain together with a large black gemstone bead… becomes my silver wing necklace! To begin with I had two silver wing pendants, bought them in a pair.

My first silver wing I used in a necklace with brown braided leather cord, the silver wing placed in center of the necklace. That one was for my husband, he has worn it a lot. You can his necklace in my post: Men’s Jewelry With Sterling Silver Wing.

Visiting the museum Fotografiska in Stockholm

Tonight I have visited the museum Fotografiska in Stockholm. They had the exhibitions “Fashion” and “Lady Warhol”, it was very interesting. There is so much you can do with a camera and a view!

I really enjoyed the “Fashion” exhibit. There were many famous models featured, like Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell along with unknown ones.

There is so much to learn about taking pictures of people, that made me think about the combination of elements that makes a really strong picture.

I found a book at the museum store also, it was on sale too. It’s called “Fashion Jewelry” – Catwalk and Couture. Can’t wait to start reading it!! I will get inspiration for my photography and jewelry making, what a combo!

Beading Party of Three

Yey, I’ve just had a wonderful beading party with some friends. We have made necklaces and a pair of earrings.

At this party we had lots of coffee, cinnamon buns and candy… It’s necessary to have snacks! Hehe…

It’s so much fun to play around with new beads and to inspire each other. Here are some photos from our jewelry making event!

As a gift from Rebecca I got a really cute green ceramic heart pendant.

I started stringing a necklace with it, but I think I will modify that design a little bit when I get back home. I can show you later.

Went to the bead shop yesterday and got my hands on some really nice crystal beads, among them was this swarovski heart pendant which Rebecca is making a necklace of. Isn’t it fabulous…?

Winter trip to the Norwegian Mountains

Just wanted to share with you some pictures from my last trip to northern Norway. I went to visit my sister who lives in the city “Tromsö”.

The landscapes here are amazing as you can see…

Deep valleys and steep mountains everywhere you look. At this time of year there is very little sunlight here, only a few moments every day.

If it wasn’t for the snow, it would be quite dark. But the snow helps to draw light into the landscape.

This is my first time to visit Norway again after moving back to Sweden. It’s easy to miss the incredible nature in these northern parts of the country…

During my stay here I took the time to play with my sisters kids, they are great!

We made some clay animals and drew pictures together. Outside we also made a snowman, check him out, he is almost finished!

I love trips like these. Playing around and just being silly makes the necessary everyday life so much more fun!

Black Cinnabar Beads Necklace

It’s funny that I can’t seem to take my eyes of cinnabar beads every time I see them in the bead shop! Hehe… maybe I just shouldn’t look…? Anyway, this time I found some black cinnabar beads! The heart shaped one will be perfect as a pendant in this necklace.

I had a conversation with a friend at work some time ago and we were talking about cinnabar beads, how beautiful they are! But we were also discussing what they are made of. My friend guessed porcelain… But is it? I decided to take a look into that. Hmm what are cinnabar beads really made of… This is what I dug up:

What is cinnabar?

Cinnabar, also called Chinese Lacquer, is a famous Chinese handicraft. Traditionally, cinnabar items were created by painting multiple layers of lacquer onto it, letting the item dry between each coat, and then carving the resulting layers of lacquer into amazing patterns. The name comes from the toxic red mineral cinnabar (mercury sulfide) that was once added to give the special red color to the lacquer.

Now days, cinnabar beads and jewelry are formed from a dyed red resin which contains no harmful cinnabar. However, it looks pretty much the same. Red is the most popular color of cinnabar jewelry, but there is also blue, black, brown and green.

Together with the cinnabar beads in this necklace I used turquoise chips and some black glass beads. It’s fun to make double strand necklaces, combining the beads in a wider perspective to make the necklace come together nicely.

Chocolate Cupcake Sunday

I woke up yesterday having the word “baking” ringing in my head, no time for breakfast here! So I got started right away, mixing all the ingredients for my favorite chocolate cupcake recipe. But then I realized that I didn’t have any oil… Ops… So I had to ask someone to go and buy a new bottle, and this someone was so kind to do that!

It didn’t take long until I got my oil and could continue with my cupcakes. Oooo when making chocolate cupcakes don’t forget to add Big pieces of chocolate, it makes it so much more delicious.

I got the best result so far when pushing the chocolate pieces into the cupcake mixture after it’s placed in the baking cups… Otherwise all the chocolate pieces will sink to the bottom.

My baking of cupcakes is changed forever after I got my silicone baking cups. When I use them my cupcakes never burn or dry out! And with these silicone baking cups there is no need for butter because it’s a nonstick material, soo perfect…

Baking these cupcakes was one of my most relaxed and wonderful sunday in a long time, I really enjoyed it. Usually sundays are sleepy days for me, but this was great. The creative juices are flowing! I better make my sundays baking cupcake day.

Now I got tons of new inspiration for jewelry making…. Love that feeling. Hope you all also had a great weekend and got some rest too
