In a hurry leaving for a weekend get away with my husband I realized I didn’t have any necklaces I wanted to wear to my outfit. I was wearing my summer dress in turquoise with black leggings. Looking at the black nail polish on my fingers I started thinking, wouldn’t something black be cool…
Then it hit me! What about one of my earrings to make a necklace, truth is that my sister gave me one on her last visit! She said something like :”I lost the second earring, maybe you can make something else out of it?” So I was like: ” Yeah sure!” Although I didn’t get any splendid ideas for the pendant that day so I put it away.
But this early morning I opened my beading stash to find this cool black pendant. And it even had black beads already
So I took a look at chains and beading cords and found this black satin rattail. Perfect for making a necklace I thought!

Me and my new black pendant necklace
Now I just had to tie a double rattail cord to fasten the pendant, and then to tie a simple knot in the neck around all four ends. This makes it easy to adjust the length of the necklace and to take it off if you have to. The rattail cord is great because it’s very “forgiving” even you tie and untie it many times.
This was a very fun and easy beading opportunity! Even I, who usually wants plenty of time to bead, I’m definitely recommending making this 3 minute necklace.
You get to practice your beading skill, like what goes with what, and to come up with fast practical solutions. When your in a hurry beading this article is also helpful. Bead on my friends!
